A boxwood Gunter quadrant,English,late 17th Century.
Degree scale subdivided to one degree,date scale subdivided to named month,mounted with two brass pinole sights.

Gunter quadrant was invented by Edmund Gunter in 1623.

The Gunter quadrant was inscribed with projections of the tropics , the equator , the horizon and the ecliptic.

With this instrument is posible to find the time , the date , the length of the day or night with the correct table.
