French Hourglass 18th Century

Description

Very beautiful stylized  18th Century iron Hour-sandglass

An hourglass, also known as a sand timer or sandglass, is a device used for measuring a fixed amount of time.

It consists of two glass bulbs, connected by a narrow neck, with sand or another granular material inside.

The sand flows from the upper bulb to the lower bulb through the neck at a consistent rate, allowing for the measurement of a fixed interval of time.
